Sticks and Chains
2010—
Wooden dowels, chains
Length variable

The sculpture consists of interconnected chains and wooden dowels, with the number of dowels and chains varying for each presentation to suit the space. It is intended as an interactive tool for the audience to draw lines on the floor and lean against walls. Its title is inspired by Albert Meister's book La soi-disant utopie du centre beaubourg, which has influenced many of my projects. The sculpture changes its title based on the city's zip code where it is shown, echoing the book's idea of new 'beaubourgs' spreading to other cities.
