Guiding Fabric is a collection of ten textile pieces created using a sewing machine on plain, unbleached cotton fabric, which were then hand-sewn onto painted canvases. The pieces depict landscapes, living systems, and hybrid architectural motifs reminiscent of everyday scenes and objects. The works were developed from initial drawings, but sewing requires a different approach than drawing because the fabric is passed through the machine's needle. These works were exhibited for the first time at Galerie Barbara Wien from February 24 to April 13, 2024.
